Employment: Full Time
Job Purpose
Providing technical advice and support on the design, engineering and construction of mechanical systems for building projects.
- Staying up to date with the latest codes & standards.
- Maintaining good customers/consultants relationship.
- Continuous follow up with the Head of Design team and Project Engineers to ensure that the Team’s targets are achieved.
- Efficient review of Mechanical systems design
- The provision of sound and reliable technical advice.
- Efficient review of material submittal.
- Inspection of Work progress and quality of the works performed.
Requirements
Main Tasks & Responsibilities:
Review designs (Fire Fighting, Drainage, Water, LPG) submitted by the consultants and make sure that they are as per the latest standards.
- Producing M&E drawings for development (residential) projects
- Ensure that purposed designs are in compliance with the latest energy efficient design criteria.
- Site supervision
Propose alternative design solutions to render the projects viable and within allocated budget. - Review material submittals.
- Review the payments related to mechanical works.
- Review the progress of the mechanical works at site.
- Inspect the quality of the works and make sure it is as per ADCE standards and requirements.
Background Knowledge & Experience
Minimum Education level required:
B.Sc. Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Professional Qualifications
Work Experience:
Over 2 years’ experience as a Mechanical Engineer
Checkable Employment Reference
Special Skills / Attributes required for the Job:
A Satisfactory DBS Check or a Clean DBS Certificate is essential
Ability to speak in English language is essential our workers must prove they can read, write, speak and understand English to at least level B1 on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) scale by:
- Either passing a Secure English Language Test (SELT) from an approved provider
- Having a GCSE, A level, Scottish National Qualification level 4 or 5, Scottish Higher or Advanced Higher in English, gained through study at a UK school that they began when they were under 18
- Having a degree-level academic qualification that was taught in English – if they studied abroad, they’ll need to apply through Ecctis (formerly UK NARIC) for confirmation that their qualification is equivalent to a UK bachelor’s degree, master’s degree or PhD
- A good knowledge of MS Office, AutoCAD and project planning tools are required.
- A good knowledge of Engineering project planning software is required.
